There are several drugs that interact with cannabidiol (CBD). Any drug that is broken down in the liver, via cytochrome P450, has the potential to interact with CBD. What this means is CBD slows down and keeps the medication in your blood stream for much longer than normal. This in turn creates a much higher medication concentration than intended which can be potentially dangerous.
The following is a limited list of medications should not be mixed with CBD:
- Angiotension II Blockers
- Beta Blockers
- Calcium Channel Blockers
- HIV antivirals
- HMG CoA reductase inhibitors
- NSAIDs like ibuprofen and advil
- Oral hypoglycemic agents
- Proton Pump Inhibitors
We highly recommend consulting with your physician before taking cannabidiol CBD oil.
